When Jesus says ‘Your will be done,’ He is revealing God’s will isn’t a hidden target you have to hit with perfect accuracy. God cares infinitely more about who you are becoming—more Christ-like someone who is loving, kind, peaceful, and patient—rather than the regulation of your calendar. Our heavenly Father doesn’t give us a hidden map to guess; He gives us a compass of love to guide us right where we are standing today.
From Genesis to Revelation God’s Word speaks of His plan to rescue and restore His peculiar creations. Throughout His love letter our heavenly Father points to the life and death and resurrection of His Word, Christ Jesus, for the Son of Man has revealed Himself to be ultimate demonstration of God’s love. Yet, how sad for there are people who say the way of God is not perfect or even just. Why? Because God’s Word is not honored or cherished or obeyed every single person experiences what Adam did: Fear and shame and anger. So we too deny accountability, we accuse and blame God and others, for this is the easiest thing to do. Why make matters worse for ourself by acknowledging the Truth it is our own ways that are not perfect or even just (Ezekiel 33:17).
Christ Jesus, the Good Shepherd, came that we may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). The Good Shepherd, Who laid His life down for God’s flock to make God and His will for us known. Remember Him, for there’s a depth of meaning that lies within every verse of 23rd Psalm that gives us a perfect depiction of God’s will: That everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life (John 6:40):
