In first verse we are told Job was one who feared God and shunned evil, who lived in the land of Uz, which has this meaning to consult, take advice; while the meaning of the name Job is persecuted, hated. Here we have a very brief but accurate synopsis about a man who was persecuted and hated by the enemy because he chose to consult the Lord and take to heart the advice he received, which is evidenced by the fact his walk and his talk were congruent – consistent, harmonious and conformable to the ways of God not the ways of the world.
A man the Lord said was blameless and upright, none like him on the earth, a true believer who sought not the praise of men but that of God. It is thought Job may have lived in the time of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Abraham was from “Ur of the Chaldeans,” which today is Iraq. Could their paths have crossed when Abraham left Ur to follow God to the land of promise?
What we do know Job was blessed by God for his hope was in the Lord his God, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 146:5). Centuries later the same God, the Maker of heaven and earth was heard to say, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you,” Matthew 5:11.
We can tell the goodness of God surrounded Job’s life not just by the size of his family and his herds but by what the numbers themselves represent. Job had 7 sons, 3 daughters, 7,000 sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred oxen and female donkeys making him the greatest of all the people of the East.
- The number 7 signifies completeness, spiritual perfection and divine fullness.
- The number 3 signifies divine wholeness, completeness and perfection
- The number 5 signifies God’s grace, kindness, mercy and goodness toward humanity
- The number 4 signifies completeness, universality, and God’s creative and redemptive work
We have in our possession what Job did not, the written Logos Word of God, and Proverbs 29:18 tells us: Where there is no vision, no redemptive revelation of God, the people perish; but he who keeps the law of God, which includes that of man, blessed, happy, fortunate and enviable is he (AMP).
Also in Exodus 6:3 God said to Moses, “I am the Lord! I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, El-Shaddai, but not by My name the Lord, Yahweh – the redemptive name of God. I did not make Myself known to them in acts and great miracles (AMP).
Throughout the eras of time, God has shared the Rhema Word so godly individuals could prophesy and transcribe the Logos Word until the day arrived when the Lord would unroll the scroll of the prophet Isaiah to read: “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, He has anointed Me to preach Good News to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing,” Luke 4:16-20.
That year the people were being told the Kingdom of God is at hand – His favor, His grace, His forgiveness and His mercy. For over a two thousand plus years people have been hearing the Good News. But, there’s a very special year for the hearts of very special people to be stirred by the Logos Word so this Scripture could be fulfilled in their hearing:
As God’s partners, we beg you not to toss aside this marvelous message of God’s great kindness. For God says, “Your cry came to Me at a favorable time, when the doors of welcome were wide open. I helped you on a day when salvation was being offered.” Right now God is ready to welcome you. Today He is ready to save you (2 Corinthians 6:1-2 TLB).
And today I would like to invite you to join me on the website ForGodForeHisGlory.Com to gain knowledge of God and His Word and how our human condition can impede and hamper our spiritual growth and development. Information has been made available for you to read and determine what is of interest and what applies to you. This information is not meant to overwhelm, quite the opposite, it is meant to enlighten and empower as it as done for me.
My purpose for sharing has a threefold purpose: (1) That God’s love would radically impact lives, (2) That eyes and ears, hearts and hands would open so ALL that God desires to personally bestow and impart through His Logos and Rhema Word could be received, and (3) The knowledge gained about God and His Word and His loving-kindness would result in negativity just naturally losing ground/control in our lives because strongholds would be broken by the Resurrection Power of the Spirit of the Lord.
I look forward to future discussions about the Book of Job and information from the website ForGodForeHisGlory.Com
