Eternal Assurance and Divine Triumph

Do not fear, for I am with you!
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God!
I will strengthen you and help you!
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand!
Isaiah 41:10

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, Who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him. Now I have told you.” But the guards shook with fear when they saw him and became like dead men.

The women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell His disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” He said. They came to Him, clasped His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see Me,” Matthew 28:2-10.

What I received I passed on to you as first importance: That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; That He was buried; That He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures; That He appeared to Peter, then the others (1 Corinthians 15:3-5).

While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. “There was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and rolled aside the stone at the tomb and sat on it. His face shone like lightning and his clothing was a brilliant white.”

When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole Him away while we were asleep.’ If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” So, the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day (Matthew 28:11-15 TLB).

Why do the nations conspire, and the people plot in vain (Psalm 2:1 NIV). What fools to rage against the Lord! How strange they should try to outwit God! A conference has been called to plot against the Lord and His Messiah, Christ the King.

But God in heaven merely laughs! He is amused by all their puny plans. The Lord declares, “This is the King of My choice, and I have enthroned Him on Zion, My holy hill,” Psalm 2:1-6 TLB.

“See, I lay a Stone in Zion, a chosen and precious Cornerstone, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame,” 1 Peter 2:6. “I will make the nations His inheritance; the whole world will be His possession. He will break them with an iron rod and shatter them like a clay pot.”

His chosen One replies, “I will reveal the everlasting purposes of God, for the Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son. This is Your Coronation Day. Today I am giving You Your glory,’” Psalm 7-9 TLB.

Therefore, kings, be wise; be warned, you judges of the earth. Serve Adonai with fear! Rejoice, but with trembling! Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish along the way, when suddenly His anger blazes. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him (Psalm 2:10-12 CJB).

“See, I lay in Zion a Stone that causes people to stumble,
And a Rock that makes them fall,
And the one who trusts in Him
Will never be put to shame!”
Romans 9:33
