Ephesians 3:20 tells us God is able to do more than all you can ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within you. You can see the promises of God come to pass in your own life and the works of your hands blessed. You can prosper and be generous. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.” – 1 John 5:14-15
This is a very important Scripture. It tells us that this is our confidence—our firm trust. We may not have the evidence, but we know God has already taken the case. Jesus has already paid the price. You have the ability to be successful. No matter where you started or where you are now, you have the ability to be successful. I don’t know what kind of situation you may find yourself in right now, but let me encourage you: GOD IS BIGGER than anything you’re facing.
The task before you may be impossible in your own strength, but it’s not impossible with God! Joseph was in impossible situations—in the house of the ungodly and in a place where he really had no chance of success. In places where there seemed to be no potential, Joseph still prospered. Just like God was bigger than Joseph’s ugly past and bigger than his dysfunctional family, GOD IS BIGGER than YOUR past.
And just like God was bigger than the rejection, betrayal, false accusations, and seven years of lack Joseph faced, GOD IS BIGGER than YOUR situation.
Time and time again, things looked completely hopeless for Joseph, but God made a way for Joseph through all of those hardships, and Joseph prospered.
God will make a way for you, too.
Just like God was with Joseph, He is with YOU, and you can prosper. You can get through any situation and be a success. God has a plan for your life. He made you for a special purpose. As a child of God, He made you to have success in everything you do. He created you to win.
God’s Word proclaims for the world to hear: “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the Good News!” Mark 1:15. Jesus said, “What shall we say the Kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches the birds of the air can perch in its shade (Mark 4:30).
Jesus uses grain and seeds to describe the Kingdom of God as something that starts incredibly small, grows quietly through God’s power, and ultimately yields a massive, fruitful harvest. For the Lord has explained, “The Kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the Kingdom of God is within you,” Luke 17:20. So, don’t allow fear to cause you to worry about tomorrow. Learn about and receive God’s perfect, unconditional love that casts out fear and enables you to let tomorrow worry about itself, for each day will surely have enough trouble of its own. You, seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and all your physical needs will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33).
I want to encourage you because when we do begin to think differently, when
we allow Holy Spirit to grow the Kingdom of God within us we will have the mind of Christ. God bestows to us spiritual discernment so we can understand what the Spirit teaches, for God’s Spirit expresses spiritual truths in spiritual words so we can receive and grow and implement for the glory of the Lord all the good our heavenly Father has freely given us (1 Corinthians 2:12).
How many times I have told the Lord I trusted Him only to discover how my behavior is saying not much trust being shown. Recently I have been struggling with aggravation, being irritated with my husband. James 1:5 says: If any of you lacks wisdom, they should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to them. But, when they ask, they must believe and not doubt. So, I asked Holy Spirit for insight, and what I heard there is a lack of trust in God and His timing. One of the hallmark signs of Codependency is anger. And what stems from anger – annoyance, aggravation, irritation, indignation, resentment, bitterness, contempt…to mention just a few.
We must always remind ourselves God is good! He loves us! So, don’t get discouraged when He has to show you where your thinking or behavior has gone off course (Hebrews 12:5). He has graciously invited us to participate in His divine nature so we can escape the corruption in the world caused by a human heart’s evil desires (2 Peter 1:4). God’s Word of Truth and Grace will always help us to regain a humble stance before the Lord. However, it is our choice to give all honor and glory to the One Who bears the scars so we can receive every good and perfect gift our heavenly Father desires to bestow, so we can co-labor with Holy Spirit training and disciplining ourselves to glorify the Lord.
Father, consider our threats
And enable Your servants to speak Your Word
With great boldness.
Stretch out Your hand, Father, to heal
And perform miraculous signs and wonders
Through the name of Your holy and precious
