Receiving the Mind of Christ: Hearing and Following Him

“Father, I have revealed You to those whom You gave Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me and they have obeyed Your Word. Now they know that everything You have given Me comes from You. For I gave them the words You gave Me, and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from You, and they believed that You sent Me,” John 17:6-9.

Among those who are mature a Wisdom is spoken. A Wisdom not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away. God’s Wisdom is spoken! A mystery revealed! The hidden Wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory (1 Corinthians 2:6-7 NASU).

God, Who knows the heart, shows that He accepts those hear and receive His Word, who accept His Wisdom not as the word of men, but as the Truth, the Word of God, by giving us His Holy Spirit (Acts 15:8), Who is at work in every believer (1 Thessalonians 2:13).

God’s Word tells us, “Things which eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, ALL that God has prepared for those who love Him.” For to us God reveals them through His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

Who among men knows the thoughts of a person except the spirit of that person which is them? But the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Praise the Lord, for we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given us by God. Things not taught in words by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, Who combines spiritual thoughts with spiritual words (1 Corinthians 2:9-13)..

But everyone who accepts the things of God’s Spirit are given the right to receive from Him Wisdom and Revelation so God and His Word may be better known (Ephesians 1:17). That our love for God and His Word would abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight and understanding, so we would be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.

To the glory and praise of our heavenly Father, through His Word and His Spirit we are being filled with the fruit of Righteousness – ALL Goodness and Peace – (Philippians 1:9-11) so we would have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).

From the fullness of God’s grace that we ALL receive one blessing after another. The Law was given through Moses, but Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, Who is at the Father’s side, has made Him known (John 1:16-18).

“Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world began,” John 17:5. The time has come for the Son of Man to enter into His glory, and God will be glorified because of Him. And, since God receives glory because of the Son, He will soon give glory to the Son (John 13:31-32 NLT).

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – the God of all our ancestors – has brought glory to His Servant and Son, Jesus. This is the same Jesus Who was handed over and denied, rejected and disowned before Pilate, despite Pilate’s decision to release Him. He was rejected this holy, righteous One and instead the release of a murderer was demanded. The Author of Life was killed, but God, He raised Him from the dead (Acts 3:13-15 NLT).

The Lord came down in the cloud and stood with Moses and proclaimed His name, the Lord. He passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin,” Exodus 34:5-7).

God’s love story started when He said, “Let Light shine out of darkness!” Our heavenly Father makes His Light shine in our heart, so we understand it is the beauty and brightness of His glory that is seen in the face of Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 4:6).

A cloud appeared and enveloped everyone. A voice came from that cloud saying, “This is My Son, Whom I have chosen! Listen to Him!” Luke 9:34-35. Listen –hear, hearken, heed, attend to Him – that your heart may be enlightened so you may know the Hope to which God has called us. That you may understand the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints. That you may experience His incomparably great power for those who believe (Ephesians 1:17-18) we are abundantly blessed when the mind of Christ is ours.

Are we living as though we are blessed to be in possession of the mind of Christ?

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and the follow Me,” John 10:27.

Lord, stretch out Your hand to heal
And perform miraculous signs and wonders
Through the name of Your holy servant Jesus
