“Those who depart from the Most High God
Shall be written in the earth,
Because they have forsaken the Lord,
The fountain of living waters.”
Jeremiah 17:13 NKJV
So many people saw with their own eyes the things Jesus did, things they knew only God had the power to do. Jesus was heard to tell those who asked, are you the One Who was to come, (the Messiah), or should we expect someone else?
“Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the Good News is preached to the poor. Blessed are they who do not fall away on account of Me,” Matthew 11:2-6.
The Lord was also heard to say to those who put ego and self-interest above veracity (truth, sincerity, good faith, forthrightness…):
“You neglect justice and the love of God!”
Luke 11:42
“You do not have the love of God in your heart!”
John 5:42
We all know what it can mean to assume! I can’t assume what you know or don’t know about God and His Word and the power of Holy Spirit. However, whether you will continue or are just beginning to invest time so God’s Word could be heard, you would not just hear with your ears but also with your heart, and be taught by the Lord, Who makes Truth known.
When Truth is sought whole-heartedly, this discovery will surely be made: All Truth is in Jesus, embodied and personified in Him (Ephesians 4:20 AMP). Jesus said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me,” John 14:6.
Through Jesus you believe in God, Who raised Christ from the dead and glorified Him, so your faith and hope are in God (1 Peter 1:21).
Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in their heart: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son (1 John 5:10-11), Who spoke of the seed, the Word of Life, He sows. This News isn’t just Good, it’s amazing: The Life appeared! We have seen it and testify to it
(1 John 1:2), so the truth of Christ may be in you (2 Corinthian 11:10), and you may have fellowship with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ
(1 John 1:3).
Yes, the Word is near you! In your mouth and in your heart! The Word of Faith and Truth and Life! Therefore, if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved! (Romans 10:8-9).
Now you may be hearing this for the first time or possibly the thousandth. Sadly, today the picture of the Church and the world has a similar appearance. Jeremiah said this of unbelievers, “God is always on their lips, but far from their heart,” Jeremiah 12:2. About those who believe God said, “These people come near Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. Their worship of Me is made up only of rules taught by men,” Isaiah 29:13.
Whether you are God-fearing or not, this does not alter the Truth. God so loves the world! (John 3:16). The Word of Life tells us, “Greater love has no one than this: That they lay down their life for their friends. You are My friends if you do what I command (John 15:13-14). The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life – only to take it up again. Of My own accord I lay it down, no one takes My life from Me,” John 10:17-18.
Jesus laid His life down for the glory and honor and love of God. Even those who followed Jesus for three years didn’t understand why the Lord laid Himself down on that cross. Why? LOVE! Christ’s mission was not just about making the Way and the Truth and the Life of God known, but to be the expression of Love! God is love (1 John 4:8).
“I have come down from heaven not to do My will
But to do the will of Him Who sent Me!”
John 6:38
