Woe to the Earth: A Call to Repentance and Renewal

Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord Almighty
Christ Jesus seated on a throne
High and exalted
Faithful and True
The whole earth
Full of His glory

With justice
He judges and makes war
His eyes like blazing fire
Many crowns upon His head
His name
The Word of God

Living and active is He
Who gave Himself up
For the Church
Making her holy
Cleansing her
For the Word is God
By Him all things were created
Things in heaven and on the earth
Visible and invisible
Without Him
Nothing was made
That has been made

Woe to those who do not regard
The deeds of the Lord
Who call evil good and good evil
Who do not consider
The operation of His hands
In mercy and in judgment
They go into captivity to their enemies
Without knowing it
For they have no knowledge of God

Woe to those who put darkness for light
And light for darkness
Master at making themselves look good
In front of others
But
God knows what’s behind each façade

Woe to those who put bitter for sweet
And sweet for bitter
Who scoff and speak wickedly
Who speak proudly
Setting their mouth
Against the heavens
Their tongue walks through the earth
Their triumph short-lived
Their joy merely temporary

Woe to those who are wise
In their own eyes
Clever in their own sight
For the wisdom of this world
Is foolishness in God’s sight
He catches the wise in their craftiness
Their thinking
Futile
They neither glorify God
Nor give thanks to Him

Darkened
Are the hearts of those
Who allow sexual impurity
To degrade their bodies
Who exchange the Truth of God
For a lie

Who worship and serve created things
Rather than their Creator
Hell has enlarged herself
Opened wide her mouth
Without measure
The glory of the multitude
Who rejoice in their pomp
In their vulgarity and pretense
Shall descend into it

Why invite this punishment
Why rebel forever
Heads are injured
Hearts are sick

Come
Let us settle this
Let us reason together
Though your sins like scarlet
White as snow
The Lord will make them
Though red like crimson
White as wool
Will He make them

If only you would listen
If only you would obey
God’s Word
If only He were allowed
To help you
Rich would He make you
In every way
