New Beginnings: Alive in Christ

So, whatever it takes,
I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life
Of those who are alive from the dead.
Philippians 3:11 TLB

Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name (John 20:30-31).

Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written (John 21:25).

Jesus said, “I told you already, but you did not believe. I do miracles in My Father’s name. These miracles show Who I am. But you do not believe it, because you are not My sheep. My sheep listen to My voice. I know them, and they follow Me. I give My sheep eternal life. They will never die, and no one can take them out of My hand. My Father is the One Who gave them to Me, and He is greater than all. No one can steal My sheep out of His hand. The Father and I are One!” John 10:25-30 ERV.

Ironically, the first miraculous sign Jesus did was in the town of Cana of Galilee, when He was at a wedding banquet. The master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink. But you have saved the best till now,” John 2:8-10.

A wedding is a celebration of new beginnings. In Isaiah 43:19 the Lord said, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up! Do you not perceive it?” Look inside! For what you will see is anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God Who settled the relationship between us and Him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with Himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins (2 Corinthians 5:17-19 Message).

And those who delight themselves greatly in the Lord, He will clothe with garments of salvation! The souls who rejoice in our God, He will array in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels (Isaiah 61:10).

“I will betroth you to Me forever! I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord,” Hosea 2:19-20 NKJV. How blessed will those be who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb! (Revelation 19:9).

Yes, the One sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new! It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega! The Beginning and the End! To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the Water of Life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be My children (Revelation 21:5-7 NLT).

The time is quickly approaching for the wedding of the Lamb to be celebrated, has the bride readied herself (Revelation 19:7b)? The Lord has said, “Blessed are those servants whom the Master finds awake and alert and watching when He comes. Truly I say to you, He will gird Himself and have them recline at the table and will come and serve them! (Luke 12:37 AMP).

Let us rejoice and be filled with joy, for Jesus took a cup, gave thanks, and offered it saying, “Drink from it all of you! This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you; I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now until that day when I drink it anew with you in My Father’s Kingdom,” Matthew 26:27-29.

When we ask the Lord’s blessing upon our drinking from the cup of wine at the Lord’s Table, this means, that all who drink it are sharing together the blessings of Christ’s blood (1 Corinthians 10:16 TLB). By God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone (Hebrews 2:9 NLT). Oh, how precious the Lord’s constant love! He feeds us with blessings from His own table, and lets us drink from His rivers of delight (Psalm 36:7-8 TLB).

Yes, His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him Who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through the excellence of His virtues, He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them we may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires (2 Peter 1:3-4).

Jesus is the vine (John 15:5a). Drink, yes, drink abundantly of Love! O precious One for now I know You are mine, irrevocably mine! (Song 5:1 AMP). Yes, taste and see the Lord is good! Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy (Psalm 34:4-5 NLT).

We are the branches and Christ is the Vine. If we remain in God’s Word, the Lord will remain in us. Apart from Him we can do nothing. And this is to the Father’s glory that we bear much fruit showing ourselves to be the Lord’s disciples (John 15:5-8).

On that wedding day in Cana, Jesus’ mother gave those servants the best advice she could give to anyone at any time, “Do whatever He tells you,” John 2:5. For surely then with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation (Isaiah 12:3).

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Yes, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let them come; and whoever wishes, let them take the free gift of the water of life (Revelation 22:17).

Whatever you have learned or received or heard
From God’s Word
Put it into practice!
And the God of peace will be with you!
