Lord, I believe;
Help my unbelief!
Mark 9:24 NKJV
Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; He rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen Him after He had risen (Mark 16:14).
“Those I love I rebuke and discipline!”
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they with Me,” Revelation 3:19-20.
What a life changing decision, inviting Jesus into our heart, for He will rebuild the foundation of our lives. Because of the Word of Truth, Christ Jesus, we will be freed from what binds – stinking thinking, which leads to addiction, bad behaviors, character deficits, personality disorder, delusion….
Christ Jesus is in us! How awesome! How amazing! For God’s Word helps us to examine ourselves. To test ourselves to see if we are living in the faith! Free from condemnation! Free from accusation! Free from fear! Standing firm when undesirable circumstances approach! When we continue in faith, our trust in the Lord (1 Peter 5:9) will grow and be strengthened, established, and rooted in the hope held out to us in the Gospel (Colossians 1:22), for great wealth can be ours – godliness with contentment (1 Timothy 6:6 NLT).
God’s Word of Truth helps us to be disciplined! Helps us to train ourselves in the exercise of keeping spiritually fit. Let us practice being a committed and faithful Christian (1 Timothy 4:7), by doing for God as He has done for us: He has exalted above all else the Lord’s name, His Word; He has magnified His Word above all His name (Psalm 138:2b).
This practice of exalting God’s Word above all our name, will be beneficial not only now in this life, but also in the life to come (1 Timothy 4:8). Yes, training our body helps us in some ways. But devotion to God helps us in every way (TLB). Co-laboring with the Lord, God’s Word of Life, brings us blessings in abundance, for in all directions Good is not too difficult to be viewed.
For who, with reason, despises the day of small things? Know these seven shall rejoice when they see the plumb line of righteousness in our hand. These seven are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro throughout the whole earth (Zechariah 4:10) looking for those who uphold the measuring line of justice (Isaiah 28:17).
So let us worship and praise Jesus for His loving-kindness and for His truth and faithfulness (Psalm 138:2a). For this is quite a journey we embark on with the Lord in our lives: Facing our denial, surrendering our life more and more to Christ, taking an honest look at our lives, humbling ourselves, allowing God to make changes in us, becoming willing to trust the Lord, to forgive and to say sorry I was wrong.
When we seek knowledge of God and His Word of Truth, we are taking an essential step toward breaking free from denial, deception, delusion, confusion, doubt, disbelief…and developing a lifestyle of being renewed in our thinking, of deep inner healing, of recovery!
Holy Spirit bestows precious gems to be treasured:
- The left arm of the Lord is under my head, and His right arm embraces me (SS 8:3)
- My heavenly Father will never leave me! Never will He forsake Me!
I can say with confidence, “The Lord is my Helper; I will not be afraid!” Hebrews 13:5-6
- God has swept my offenses away like a cloud, my sins like the morning mist. He has redeemed me (Isaiah 44:22)
- God loves me! He goes before me! He will help me defeat my enemies (Psalm 59:10)
We must be careful what we are hearing. For the measure of thought and study we give to the truth we hear will be the measure of virtue and knowledge that comes to us – and more besides will be given to those who hear (Mark 4:24 AMP).
Yes, God enriches our whole life when we are Christ’s! How can we stop thanking Him for all the wonderful gifts He gives us. Helping us to be in possession of a full understanding of the truth and helping us to speak out for Him (1 Corinthians 1:4-6 TLB).
Yes, co-laboring with God’s Word ensures we have every grace and blessing; every spiritual gift and power for doing our heavenly Father’s will are ours during this time of waiting for the return of Christ Jesus.
God has given us His Word, His promise, His guarantee that right up to the end we will be counted free from all sin and guilt on that day when the Lord returns. God will surely do this for us, for He always does just what He says, and He is the One Who invited us into this wonderful friendship with His precious Son (1 Corinthians 1:7-9 TLB).
Let us not be fearful, stubborn or discouraged!
Let us examine our ways and test them!
Let us lift up our hearts and hands to our heavenly Father!
