Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for!
Keep on seeking, and you will find!
Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you!
Luke 11:9 NLT
Jesus asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”
They stood still, their faces downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, asked Him, “Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?”
“What things?” He asked.
“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed Him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified Him; but we had hoped He was the One Who was going to redeem Israel,” Luke 24:17-21.
Jesus asked His disciples, “Are you trying to figure out what I meant when I said, ‘In a day or so you’re not going to see Me, but then in another day or so you will see Me’? Then fix this firmly in your minds: You’re going to be in deep mourning while the godless world throws a party. You’ll be sad, very sad, but your sadness will develop into gladness.”
“When I see you again, you’ll be full of joy, and it will be a joy no one can rob from you. You’ll no longer be so full of questions. This is what I want you to do: Ask the Father for whatever is in keeping with the things I’ve revealed to you. Ask in My name, according to My will, and He’ll most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks,” John 16:19-24 Message.
It is so important for us to know God’s Word because life happens, things totally out of our control. Those times when sadness, regret, envy… fills our heart. For me, encouraging words are like those grips on a rock-climbing wall, they help to lift my spirit.
The more familiar we are with God’s Word, our relationship with Jesus deepens, and our trust in Him strengthens. For like those grips that are used to gain leverage, when we have a strong grasp of God’s Word then no matter what happens or how we may feel, we can be confident that Jesus has a strong grasp on us.
Encouragement will always be found in God’s Word, for the Lord hears our cries for help and rescues us. The Lord protects all those who love Him (Psalm 145:19-20 NLT). For the Lord is a shield around us! He is our glory! He is the One Who holds our head high! When we cry out to the Lord, He answers us from His holy mountain (Psalm 3:3-4).
Let us keep seeking guidance and support and encouragement from God’s Word, for He bestows everything we need: Knowledge, Wisdom, Understanding, Hope, Faith, Loving-kindness, Forgiveness, Truth…Let us keep asking! Let us keep seeking! Let us keep knocking! Discoveries, Revelations and Experiences are ours to receive. Like this one!
